    A Look Back at 2024

Koning is closing yet another year of growth and milestones. As the year winds down, take a look at some of our standout moments.

    In 2024, we have:

Introduced Breast CT technology in the UAE

We set a new standard in breast imaging and care in the Middle East by receiving regulatory clearance from the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) in the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to global health innovation.

The clearance process was a testament to perseverance and strategic international cooperation. Maher Bannourah, Director of Koning International, led the initiative by leveraging his industry experience with Ministry of Health (MOH) representatives.

    Completed 150,000 scans globally

Having been at the forefront of medical imaging technology and continually pushing industry boundaries, as of this year Koning successfully completed 150,000 scans globally

This is much more than a number, it represents the reliability of our technology and countless lives impacted, underscoring our commitment to providing top-tier imaging capabilities to healthcare providers and patients around the world.

    Increased density awareness

Koning has long been advocating to notify women of their breast density.

Our FDA -approved, dedicated Koning Vera Breast CT device is especially effective in analyzing dense breast tissue when using contrast, increasing specificity and allowing for significant improvement in early-stage cancer detection when compared to mammography. Our device can acquire these improved images in a matter of seconds and at radiation levels in the same range as conventional mammograms, maximizing accuracy for all women, regardless of the type of breast tissue.

This September, the Food and Drug Administration finally began to require that all mammography facilities provide women with standardized information about their breast density. We were thrilled to celebrate the implementation of a National Breast Density Reporting Standard and the life-changing consequences it will have.

Incited an incredible amount of interest during the RSNA 2024

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2024 Annual Meeting, renowned for its educational courses, scientific sessions, and technical exhibits, once again provided a wonderful platform for us to showcase the Koning Vera Breast CT.

“We received an overwhelming amount of interest in dedicated breast computed tomography during the RSNA 2024, attracting hundreds of visitors who believe the innovative features of Breast CT without contrast can supplant conventional mammography and tomosynthesis methods while improving outcomes in early breast cancer detection”, says our North America president, David Georges. “When contrast is introduced, it will greatly reduce the reliance on breast MRI for supplemental imaging and disease staging.”

    Grown impact with new installations

This year, we were lucky to witness our technology’s widespread adoption with recent and upcoming installations in Dallas TX, New York City NY Chicago IL, Kansas City MO, Beverly Hills CA, a mobile unit in California, and a leap into the Carribbean through Montego Bay, Jamaica, to name a few.

New installations are a clear indication of the impact the Koning Vera Breast CT is making in the fight against breast cancer. We are thrilled to see our technology being embraced by healthcare providers globally and remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in breast imaging. We are grateful for our dedicated team, healthcare partners, and the patients who trust in its technology, and we look forward to continuing our mission of improving patient outcomes worldwide.

    See you in 2025!
